# How to Clear a Jam

## How to clear a jam in the PhyzBatch-9000.

Despite our best efforts, card jams can rarely occur in the conveyor.  In order to manually clear a jam the conveyor cover must be removed.

1. Remove the thumbscrew at the rear underside of the conveyor cover.

2\. Pull the conveyor cover back from the scanner.  If the metal has warped slightly, the cover may take some force to pull off.

3\. Pull out the jammed cards, and replace the cover.

With the cover removed, it is a good time to [check the flappers](https://support.tcgmachines.com/knowledge/how-to-adjust-flapper?hsLang=en) (they direct the cards into the bin) for ease of movement.

The machine can be run without the cover installed for testing, but the cover should be reinstalled for long-term usage to prevent accidental injury.

Bin 1 (Unidentified) cannot be mounted without the cover installed.

Jams can be more likely in low humidity, high static environments; due to the cards clinging to the flapper arms or sides of the bins.
