An explanation and troubleshooting steps for Error 110 - Entry sensor blocked.
General Resolution
Continue the sort to clear the machine. Adjust the feed foot downwards slightly and/or tighten the metal plate under the glass tray. Clean the foam rollers.
The PhyzBatch has an infrared sensor at the exit of the scanner bay. Cards trigger this scanner when passing through. If the sensor becomes blocked for too long, the PhyzBatch assumes there is a card not feeding properly out of the scanner and stops. This has three primary causes:
- multiple cards fed into the machine
- the foam rollers are not properly grabbing the card and not pushing it out of the scanner
- the exit sensor is blocked by dust or debris
If the problem is intermittent, you may immediately resume your sort. The PhyzBatch will attempt to clear the excess cards and continue.
To determine the root cause of the issue, open the scanner and watch the interior of the machine as cards feed through.
Multiple Cards Feeding
If multiple cards are feeding into the bay, adjust the feeder foot downwards slightly and try again. Refer to the Adjustment Guide for more details.
Cleaning Rollers, Glass, and Sensor
- With the scanner bay open, remove the bottom screw (2mm Allen key), loosen the top two screws, and loosen the bottom two thumbscrews holding the metal plate supporting the glass tray.
- Remove the metal plate.
- Pull the glass tray out
The glass is held to the tray by a tab on the front edge which may become loose during removal. Make sure not to drop the glass!
- Clean the sensor by blowing it out with compressed air or a lens cleaner.
- Check that the glass has no debris or residue on it. Excess residue from dirty cards (builds up over a long period of time, depending on card condition) can cause additional friction. Clean with glass cleaner if necessary.
- For reinstallation, insert the glass tray back into the slot. Make sure the glass is under the edges of the front plate and the tab at the far end fits into the slot on the far wall of the scanning bay.
